Welcome back to our new bi-monthly reading series featuring authors that call the UK and Ireland home, curated by the super-talented Caoilinn Hughes, author of The Wild Laughter. Join us on August 4th at 1:00pm central (7:00pm in Ireland) to help celebrate Keith Ridgway’s new novel, A Shock!

Caoilinn Hughes’s latest novel, The Wild Laughter(Oneworld 2020) was shortlisted for the An Post Irish Book Awards’ Novel of the Year and RTÉ Radio 1 Listeners’ Choice Award and longlisted for the Dylan Thomas Prize . Her debut Orchid & the Wasp (Oneworld 2018) won the Collyer Bristow Prize 2019 and was a finalist for four other prizes. Her short fiction has been awarded an O.Henry Prize, the Moth Short Story Prize and the An Post Irish Book Awards’ Story of the Year 2020. She is the 2021 Writer Fellow at Trinity College Dublin.

Keith Ridgway is a Dubliner who lives in London, and the author of A Shock, published by New Directions. Previous books include the novels Hawthorn & Child, and Animals. His fiction has appeared in The New Yorker, Granta, Zoetrope, The Stinging Fly and others. He is a recipient of the Rooney Prize for Irish Literature, the Prix Femina Étranger, and the O. Henry Award.
