An exciting new collection of poems by “one of the Spanish-speaking world’s greatest living writers” (Los Angeles Review of Books)

Please join us for a conversation and reading with Mexican poet Homero Aridjis to celebrate the English-language publication of Self-Portrait in the Zone of Silence at the Instituto Cervantes.

Homero will be joined by Daniel Shapiro, Distinguished Lecturer of Classical and Modern Languages & Literatures at CUNY and editor of the magazine Literature and Arts of the Americas, Rubén Gallo, the Walter S Carpenter Jr. Professor of Latin American Literature at Princeton University. The poet will read the original Spanish poems and the actor Michael Wiener will read the poems in English. There will be a book signing and reception following the event.
