Janet Hendrickson
Janet Hendrickson translates from Spanish and Portuguese. She is the translator of The Future Is Not Ours (ed. Diego Trelles Paz, Open Letter), an anthology of fiction by Latin American writers born between 1970 and 1980. Other translations of prose and poetry have appeared in venues such as Granta, n+1, Zoetrope: All-Story, Mandorla, and The White Review. She holds a PhD in Romance Studies from Cornell and an MFA in Nonfiction Writing from the University of Iowa, where she held a writing fellowship with the University of Iowa Museum of Art. She also was a visiting researcher at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro.
